The Marine reservists came from all over Washington State: Bremerton, Kent, Woodinville, Spokane, Yakima, Vancouver, and all points of the compass. They spent three weeks training on new equipment, went to Saudi Arabia where they led the liberation of Kuwait, and a few weeks later returned to assume their civilian occupations. They were truly “citizen-soldiers.”
